At Søren Lund Møbler, we have always had a deep respect for our materials. Leather is a living, organic material that both appeals to the senses and provides a long-lasting, aesthetic result. But in the furniture industry, up to 40% of a leather can end up as waste because small natural marks are discarded. It is a resource that we believe deserves a new life.
That is why we immediately said yes when ARDESS Architecture & Design came up with the idea of utilizing leftover leather from our furniture production. That idea led to a very special project: BDO’s logo wrapped in leather.
The remains of the same leather that was used for the furniture in BDO’s reception and lounge area were given a new purpose.
The result is not only a visually strong brand element, but also a symbol that aesthetics, function and responsibility can go hand in hand. It is true Danish design, durable and with respect for resources.
With the logo upholstered with leftover leather, BDO has created a detail that both presents their brand and tells a story about craftsmanship, sustainability and passion for materials.
